Changeover Valve RV-6000

Description

AST RV-6000 changeover valves are three-way devices for flow selection in a pipeline, typically used to connect two safety valves to a single pressurized system. These devices ensure the possibility to have one safety valve always in operation and one in “stand-by”, ready to come into operation. These changeover valves are recommended to increase plant availability or to avoid plant shutdown, avoiding any relevant economic damage.

RV-6000 changeover valves can be installed individually upstream of the safety valves or upstream and downstream of the safety valves, when outlet is connected to a closed header. If inlet and outlet changeover valves are used, a mechanical interlocking system prevents human error during the operation.

Our simple design allows easy assembly / disassembly; easy removable seats allow quick and economic maintenance.

These valves are suitable for a wide range of applications, such as high temperatures, cryogenic service, lethal fluids and many others.

Main features

  • Two safety valves can be installed together and one can be kept as spare.
  • Changeover valves have been designed to minimize pressure drop; flow areas are always bigger than inlet or outlet connections.
  • Materials: carbon steel, alloy steel, hastelloy, monel and other materials upon request.
  • Accessories: the changeover can be equipped with a variety of accessories such as limit switches and pneumatic or electric actuators. It is available with stem bellows for a bubble tight sealing.

Safety Relief Valve SMU-7000/ASV & /SLSV

Main features

  • These valves represent the capability of AST to develop special valves for customer needs.
  • Assisted Safety Relief Valves (ASV)
  • This is a standard safety valve equipped with a pneumatic actuator that allows to open the valve with a pneumatic or electronic remote signal. It may be used to depressurize the vessel in case of fire or to check the functionality of the valve when the process medium tends to solidify. Overpressure can also be controlled and reduced to 2%.
  • The connection between the actuator and the valve stem is done in such a way that a failure of the assisting mechanism does not impair the functionality of the valve.

Supplementary Loaded Safety Relief Valves (SLSV)

This is a standard safety valve equipped with a secondary spring and a double acting pneumatic piston controlled by a redundant system.

This valve may be used when the difference between set pressure and operating pressure is less than 10%; in this case the leakage through the seats is greatly reduced or eliminated. Blowdown can also be controlled and kept between 3 and 4%.
